Forma & Forma Plus
Collagen production is critical to skin appearance. It provides structure and elasticity under the skin and is responsible for the firmness we associate with a youthful appearance. As we age, collagen production declines, and the existing collagen fibers beneath the skin relax. This leads to sagging skin, lines and wrinkles.
InMode Forma and Forma Plus are radiofrequency devices that stimulate new collagen production and tighten the deeper layers of your skin. There are no lasers involved with Forma treatments, allowing it to be used on all skin types. Forma & Forma Plus work together to treat multiple areas of concern. The Forma device is for smaller areas of the face and neck, while Forma Plus is for larger areas of the body.
What Does Forma Do?
Heating the subdermal layers of your skin stimulates collagen production and remodeling, which creates a tighter collagen structure. Tighter collagen structures underneath the skin improve the outward appearance by lessening lines and minimizing wrinkles. It also smooths the skin’s texture and reduces hollowed-out areas. Over several treatments, sagging skin will also appear more lifted.
Is Forma Treatment a Surgical Procedure?
Forma treatments are completely non-invasive. The radiofrequency travels through an electrode to deliver safe subdermal heating. Using ultrasound gel, the Forma device is moved over the targeted areas until optimum skin temperature is reached. Forma senses these temperatures automatically, so there is no overheating or under-heating. This perfect, constant temperature ensures even treatments to all areas and generates the best results. You may notice a slight redness after a treatment, but there is no bruising and no downtime. The treatment is painless, although you will feel some heat as the device works.
Who Can Benefit from Forma Treatments?
Forma and Forma Plus are excellent options for both men and women who want to increase collagen production and regain a youthful appearance without surgery.
Forma treatments are ideal for treating the face and neck, including:
- Lip lines
- Crow’s feet
- Neck lines
- Sagging skin under the jaw
- Textured areas and crepiness
Forma Plus treatments can treat loose skin in other areas, including:
- Inner and outer thighs
- Under the arms
- Across the bra line
- Front and back of the knees
Post-Surgical Forma Treatments
Forma treatments can be used on their own, but they can also be added after breast or body procedures to remodel the skin’s underlying collagen. This combination of procedures addresses all the structural components under the skin, providing for superior results.
Does Forma Work for Fat Removal?
Forma is not a fat-removal procedure. It specifically targets collagen, and not fat cells. As this is not a surgical procedure, Forma treatments are ongoing. It requires six to eight initial sessions and occasional follow-up treatment to maintain the best results. How often you will need a Forma procedure will be unique to you and depends on many factors, including sun exposure, lifestyle factors and skin care regimens.
