Jeuveau Injections
Neuromodulator treatments like Botox injections have become one of the most popular non-invasive cosmetic procedures for eliminating dynamic facial lines. While Botox was the first neuromodulator to be FDA-approved for frown line treatment, others have come onto the market in the last decade. One option is Jeuveau, a new form of neuromodulator that offers similar results as Botox. Jeuveau is FDA-approved to treat frown lines, or the 11’s glabella lines, between the eyebrows. It is also useful for treating many types of dynamic lines caused by muscle contraction. This can include the horizontal forehead lines, crow’s feet and other wrinkles created by muscle movement. As a neuromodulator, Jeuveau injections block nerve signals to the targeted muscles to help keep them relaxed for 3-4 months, minimizing the appearance of lines in the treated area.
#NEWTOX – An Alternative to Botox
Jeuveau is often referred to as #NEWTOX, as it can be a new option for those who cannot use Botox or have built up a resistance to it over time. Jeuveau is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A that does not have the same proteins in the original Botox formula. This can help some patients who want the benefit of a neuromodulator but cannot use Botox injections. Both obtain similar results in about 1-2 weeks for lines and wrinkles and last about the same period as Botox.
