Votiva Pelvic Floor Tightening
Women have unique cosmetic and functional concerns that could previously only be addressed with surgery. Childbirth, menopause and natural aging can all cause the muscles of the pelvic floor to become lax. Once this happens, women are at risk for bowel and bladder problems, pelvic organ prolapse and difficulties with intimacy. While some medical interventions provide a degree of relief, they only treat the symptoms. Votiva Pelvic Floor Tightening was introduced to bridge the gap between treating symptoms and invasive surgery.
What Votiva Does
Votiva provides a comfortable way to rejuvenate vaginal health without surgery. It uses two radiofrequency technologies to address pelvic floor dysfunction and laxity. First, the FormaV handpiece heats the tissues, providing pain relief while tightening the pelvic floor muscles. A second handpiece, the FractoraV, provides a different radiofrequency treatment to remodel the external tissue.
A third option, called Aviva, can also be added to the treatment process. It uses another radiofrequency to shrink bulky labial skin and may provide an alternative to surgical labiaplasty. It is different from Votiva but plays a role in restoring the appearance of the labia, and it is considered a minimally invasive procedure.
Votiva offers immediate results, and those results get better with time. With its two methods of radiofrequency waves, it delivers safe subdermal heat energy to the inner and external vagina. Studies have shown increases in the ability to contract and control pelvic muscles following treatment.
Depending on the combinations used, Votiva’s heat treatments target the soft tissues of the vagina, strengthening the tissues and building collagen. This improves vaginal tightness, the ability to contract muscles and it restores vaginal appearance. Votiva Treats:
- Weak pelvic muscles
- Sagging and wrinkled labia and vulva
- Weak vaginal muscles
- Vaginal wrinkling
- Loose vaginal canal
- Stress incontinence
Votiva can also help with:
- Pain caused by labial hypertrophy
- Improved self-esteem
- Improved lubrication
- Increased blood flow and sensitivity
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
Studies have shown that although there is a demonstrated improvement after one treatment, patients who had three radiofrequency treatments had better overall results than those who only tried one or two sessions. The patients identified noticeable improvements in bladder control, lubrication and sexual function.
Most patients do not experience any discomfort with the Votiva procedure, though you may feel the sensation of heat as the device works. There is no significant down time. Treatments can usually be completed in under an hour.
